The Festival of Vintage is right around the corner and tickets are currently on sale! Taking place on Saturday 22nd to Sunday 23rd April, the festival will be descending on York Racecourse, bringing us vintage lovers a plethora of music, dance, fashion and vintage homeware for the seventh year in a row.
The tagline for this famous festival is “There’s no time like the past!” This encompasses what the Festival of Vintage is all about – a celebration of nostalgia, history and times gone by. As a festival jam-packed with a variety of events, it truly offers something for everyone and promises to be a weekend that vintage enthusiasts and collectors will remember for years to come.
The 2016 Festival of Vintage was a roaring success, with people flocking from all over the country to be transported to the past. A huge range of activities were on offer for guests to get involved in. From revisiting the 1950s hula hoop craze and vintage dance lessons to participating in Q&As and exploring Marks and Spencer’s company archives from the 1930s to 1960s!
And, of course, there was plenty of live music throughout the weekend. Performances by acts such as The Moonlight Trio, Slim Jim and the Wildcards created a lively atmosphere throughout the weekend. As always, there was also a best-dressed contest, judged by the team from Vintage Life magazine.
This year many of our favourite acts, performances and features will be returning to the Festival of Vintage, including Bethany Jane Davies from The Vintage Beauty Parlour and M&S fashion. There will also be the usual Best Dressed Competition for all guests to participate in, dance lessons, vintage shopping, a vintage record shop and two indoor stages. There will be ample dancing room to let loose and show off your moves!
If you want to be in with a chance of winning the Best Dressed Competition this year, you best get planning your outfit soon! Why not browse our range of Vintage clothing and accessories to find your winning look?
A standard weekend pass for the Festival of Vintage 2017 is only £20 per person, with cheaper early bird tickets and day passes also available, as well as a free pass for children under 16. If you have a vintage car that you’d be happy to display at the festival, you too can get free entry. To find out more about tickets visit the Festival of Vintage’s website.
Being passionate about all things vintage, we’re hugely excited about next month’s Festival of Vintage and can’t wait to see you all there!
